Zaerine figured that the mistake everyone makes in facing the Matriarch is the same one she made. Everyone tries to stay grounded, tries to negate the advantage the harpy has with flight. Surely if anything goes to the air, you're doomed. This isn't wrong, necessarily- but it dramatically limits your options. You're basically signing up to just be a fish in a barrel. You're just waiting around in the ring for the Matriarch to come down and snatch you up for something horrible.

Zae has always been known as the high flier. Her renowned finisher, the Pyroblast, is a huge flying dropkick. If she's going to take the bird down, first she's going to have to go up.
