Katarina isn't the only assassin in Noxus- very, VERY far from it. Some of her "peers" think her position isn't earned by merit, but by nepotism. Alya, another prolific and successful killer of the nation, was tired of deferring to this princess.

As assassins, there is one skill that should always be honed above all else: combat. Katarina knows her position is earned, but to maintain her respect amongst the Noxxians, she often finds herself having to prove it. Alya challenged her to a simple and traditional contest. The two would face off in an unarmed battle until one yielded, or was rendered unable to fight.
