Harpies aren't really built to do what the Matriarch is doing to Arysia. Folding the night elf in half on the ground works well enough, but it's surely ignoring all of the bird's biological advantages. The talons, to be precise. Harpies are made for snatching and clawing prey from above! For lifting their victims helplessly into the air!

So, that's what she did.

Arysia felt a brief mercy as the monster trapping her released the hold. Her legs flopped to the ground, her body felt almost broken. Ary could barely move. This respite was only a few moments as the Matriarch got up and lifted up into the air, claws reaching down towards the poor elf once more.

The Matriarch lifted her prey up into the air once more. This time, rather than maneuvering her into some painful hold in the air, she flew over towards a nearby tree. She had a new idea.

Why use the strength to keep both of them aloft, when the Matriarch could inflict nearly unimaginable pain simply by hanging free? There's no rules here. Arysia can't tap out, and her begging will certainly fall on deaf ears.

Arysia didn't come out into these woods completely alone, though!
