In the original pages for Dark Reflections (title page to Page 44), Typh was shown to be certainly not unreceptive to Peonie's charms, possessed by Faden regardless.

So, using this as a basis to imagine what things would have been like if there had been just one key difference about our main character and hence how that would have played out in the circumstances they lived in, we've been on the path of one possible alternative future for a while now.

We've already seen people surviving who previous in a previous telling had not and now we've culminated in a big logical reveal consistent with that direction as a result.
