Heyo! Been a pretty quiet couple of weeks, we've been hard at work finishing this last boss fight for the final level for Around the Clock at Bikini Bottom. Made some good progress on it so far! While we don't have much news for AtC this week, I do have a few things to talk about, specifically about Scooby Horror: Arcade.

Some of you may have seen that Unfinished Dave Games episode I posted on my Youtube channel recently, showing off the bit of gameplay I had done with that game in the past. However, I've been working on it a little since then and I'm honestly digging the direction I'm going for it. I made a clue collecting system and trap building/placement system. It actually turned out pretty well! You first go around looking for clues, zooming in on them to identify them, then you can pick them up. Once you find all three clues, you have to return to the Mystery Machine to open up the trap menu. In here, you get to select one of your trap recipes you've unlocked and place it down wherever you want on the map, granted you can't place them on walls or objects, lol. Once you do that, items will spawn around the map and you gotta start looking for the trap parts to build the trap piece by piece, so you can lure the villain to the trap, capture them, then unmask them classic Scooby Doo style! Just gotta finish the unmasking segment, the trap UI, the Scooby Snack currency and the mainmenu before this prototype's ready. Once I get the gameplay nailed down, one map and one villain, I'll then decide whether or not I want to commit to this game and complete it after AtC.

I'm kind of scared about releasing the prototype build here on Patreon. Been super iffy recently about fangames being on the list of Patron exclusive downloadable games, cause you have to pay to get access to these games. It's one of the reasons why I took AtC down and kept Bob The Killer. Bob The Killer changes enough to feel somewhat original, but AtC is straight up SpongeBob, lol. So yeah, I'll think about it, may just finish the game and release it on Itchio and Gamejolt for free.

For now, I leave you with these screenshots of the prototype build, featuring the clues, the trap placement system and the trap when it's completely built. Yeah those rope icons are temp UI until I get some real item icons drawn from Padre. XD
