The few times I've drawn for Long Night episodes I didn't have a very easy time with it. It was fun to do, but it can be hard trying to draw dark and edgy stuff with that futuristic sci-fi touch. This time I figured I'd change it up a bit and just totally do what I want and overall I feel it was pretty successful. If anything, it was a lot more fun.

Oddly took a lot of inspiration from from a show called "The Littl' Bits" that used to run on tv when I was very young. I thought it'd be funny to make the main martian characters be very cute while having to face the nightmares of The Long Night. I think it was a mistake though, because now it'll be very sad when they get ripped to shred by some horrible mutant monster. Ah well.

For each the monster/mutant things I drew, I took inspiration from a few asian masks I found online. Garuda was some sort of oni, Ogre is an oni/tengu mix and the thin man was a particularly creepy kappa mask I found. The Grub man "Wimpy" was inspired by a combo of the recent Worthikids video, Captain Yajima and also on the titular character from the show "Crayon Shin Chan".

The writing used in a few of the pics if simplified chinese. In the first cityscape picture, I do not know what it says at all. That picture was from the first Long Night episode I did more than a year ago and I believe I just chose a few inoffensive words to nonsensically string together. The Light MIssile walker's writing says "Redvault". Strange concept to used japanese drawing references and chinese writing, but I figure this world of The Long Night has obviously been through some shit and this is by far the least strange change we've seen, even now.
