Cards on the table, I did not think the beetle stood a chance in hell of winning the final bout. I was so sure of it, that I had a whole plot thing lined up for Song but changed it after recording the bout. I thought it would be neat if Song's wife wasn't actually dead and he became friends with the beetle just so that if he made it to the final bout, he could have an easier time betraying the beetle. That's how I would have played it if Song won, but here we are. Most folks seem happy with it, so that's good.

I think at this point that a lot of people assume that I 100% write the story and the entire thing is all pre-planned but it isn't the case. I play the fights, record the results and then form each episode around what happened in the fight. I learned a lot this year about adding plot elements to each of the fighters to give myself some room to move based on the outcome of each fight and i really don't think this year could have turned out better. I kinda shudder to think about what would have happened if Grunt or Relic got to the end just because they didn't seem to have too much going for them lore-wise, but I am curious about what would have happened if a character like Goldmane, Iceberg, Caraca or even Melbil jr. got to the final bout. I guess that's what keeps it interesting for me.
