Not man nor elf nor goblin found. Only dwarven boots dare tread.

A wicked shriek of ice-crisp wind blows past those wretched ones corpse-born

and on it rides a melody. Skullhorror's voice, it's fabled horn.

two words krugg: Adamantine Beds beds can be created out of two materials - wood and adamantine as you just discovered that ye know what to do. STRIKE THE EARTH!

Oh boy, this brings back memories of you keeping all your pre-zombie injured dwarves in a single dormitory hospital on that one fort with the screaming gloves. Can't wait to see what comes next.

From what I have tried already is that your fortress can be on an island in an ocean and you will still have migrants and caravans. i even hat a guest in my tarvern. (then every on died by a weargiraff XD )
