Sad to see eren lash out on hange like that especially when you go back to s1 and recall their first ever interaction where young eren stayed up all night listening to hange talk about titans and her fascination, things have changed i suppose

About that Mikasa's tattoo, in the manga in her flashbacks from season 1 we see her mother giving her that tattoo, and Mikasa always wears that bandage on her hand to hide it, but in the anime Wit Studio changed it to some embroidery pattern cuz they didnt know that its gonna be important and they didnt want to show a child getting a tattoo

These episodes are for sure very confusing. Everyone is so secretive, not only Zeke and Eren, also the different factions of the military and the government in Paradis, the Azumabito, the volunteers, Historia, everyone has their own agenda and knowing who is working for what is really hard. First time I watched it I was very frustrated because nobody seemed to tell the truth, and the worst thing is seeing Eren be so distant and hostile. I think is very normal that you cant connect the dots this time. This is the most complex part of the story so far and sure its frustrating

yeah also in japan having a tattoo is a taboo. imagine having a kid a tattoo no wonder the animation studio changed it

Kat: "We don't know who the f* the Ackermans are...sorry..." I get it Kat the show introduces so many questions that you can't help but unconsciously gets frustrated 🤣 And Sonny followed up with the "it's not in the first couple minutes of the video, you can swear" had me dead. It doesn't work like that all the time unfortunately :)

I'm always surprised when I hear that something like this happened. When you're adapting something, that's still ongoing you should always ask the creator of the original about what elements of the story they have to leave in no matter how mundane they seam while creating the adaptation. There's a lot of things that we first see without important context, early on, only to later learn that it was a clue to something important. We learn the armor and colossal titans' identity in season 2 but Isayama had to tell Wit they can't just show background characters at random, but they should show Annie, Berthold, and Rainer always being together somewhere in the background. I can't believe that Isayama told them "show Mikasa has a tattoo, or at least that her wrist is always bandaged because I didn't put it there without reason, and it'll be an important plot point a lot later in the story" and they just ignored him because there's a Japanese taboo for tattoos. They did show it now and said she got it as a child. If it was a lot bigger taboo when season 1 aired they could just show her having a bandage and decide if they want to reveal the tattoo depending on how their adaptation goes because it might be crucial for the main story. I heard the same things about a lot of other shows. Both anime, and western productions. GoT is praised for being very accurate for the first few seasons but even there, with Martin being fully involved in the production process, they still didn't show a few things because they didn't know it would be something important for the story later on. NGL: If I got a chance to produce a tv/anime/movie adaptation of another type of media I would easily make sure to make it the best adapted story in the history of adaptations. :)

There are two scenes in this episode that I noticed only while rewatching the whole show with You Guys and a bunch of other reactors because I noticed things in previous episodes that are important here. 1. Coni's argument for the idea that it's not the same Eren is the fact he laughed after Sasha's death. Is s2e12 that's the same reaction Eren had after Hannes died. It's a genuine traumatic reactions and people in real world react to trauma with uncontrollable laughter. For Eren it's because he blames himself and considers himself a fool. He thought that if he'll get strong he'll be able to stop the enemy and save his loved ones, but both with Sasha and Hannes he "failed". He's laughing at himself and it's a part of grief. I know Coni isn't the sharpest pencil in the class but Armin, or Mikasa (she was literally standing next to Eren when he laughed about Hannes!) not saying a thing is... kind of a nitpicky plot hole. It definitely gives you important context to how Eren acted. 2. In the train Eren said "Because you're important to me. More then anyone else". Chronologically he was the first who said it, but we already heard Coni in "Assassin's Bullet" tell that to Jean and Sasha moments before Sasha's death. Back then we thought that was just a thought he had specifically about those two, but now we know he was quoting Eren and probably meant the entire group. It could also be a reminder right after they got Eren back and saw the horrible things that he did in Liberio, that Eren is still their friend and everything he does is for his loved ones. Now a few days later, after returning to the island he already stopped trusting Eren that he still thinks that or even if he ever thought this way for real. I can empathise with that because they were already betrayed by their comrades, by their entire government, their memories were altered by the Founding Titan. I got betrayed by a few close people in my life and even though it wasn't life shattering I do feel it's harder for me to trust people, and even with friends I sometimes get the thought "what if they're lying to manipulate me?" So if my friend turned into a 60 m giant and tried to eat me I think I'd be a bit cautious as well. :)

If they just bleeped it on YouTube wouldn't they be totally fine with the algorithm and everything? Reaction videos get demonitized almost always but if it was 100% original content they'd even keep the monetization while having a bleeped naughty word. Don't understand how YT is so "anal" about this words. Are the advertisers all mentally in the 50s? Everybody uses curse words! This is YouTube. The adpocalypse happened because the #1 YouTuber said a racial slur. Nobody would give a damn about any "f bombs" and poop synonyms! Am I wrong or does it make almost zero sense to act like YouTube's acting.

I think I read somewhere that says profanity use is ok and won’t get demonetized as long as there’s none of it during the first few minutes of the video. So thumbnail, title, and profanity use in the beginning are bits that determined the fate of the video. I just think it’s funny that Sonny has to ensure Kat that it’s safe, it’s the end of the video, not many will see or hear it lol

Not trying to rebuke or dismiss your point, just trying to think if there’s a potential explanation as to why Mikasa didn’t say anything 🥸 When Hannes died, Eren completely let his emotions run wild —> laughing was one of his first emotional response. However shortly after, his response changes from denial to grief (crying like how the “majority” would react) and you’re right Mikasa was there so she should’ve seen how the whole thing plays out. With Sasha, Mikasa was bawling her eyes out in the other room with Armin, so hearing Conny says all Eren did was laugh (no crying, frowning, etc) perhaps stunned Mikasa a bit. Ofc from the audience POV he was angry - clenching his teeth - afterward, but no one in that room saw that. But then again, I guess as someone who’s close to Eren maybe Mikasa should’ve known better? lol

Be Happy

I know, but he is reaction and demeanor will be understandable when explained later. I think it’s one of the most underrated key moments of this confusing (for a first time watcher) yet vital episode to understand the why and how’s later.

Gu

Dw guys ep 10 n ep 12 are a bit confusing

Romang

yeah, it's just so bizarre how the anime decided to deal with it. in the anime it seems like a random, shoved in plot point but if you look through past manga chapters, mikasa ALWAYS has her bandages on her wrist whenever her arm was exposed. I feel like either studio wit should've just included the bandages from the get-go or mapa should've just continued with it instead of retconning the retcon lol
