I haven’t read the books because I didn’t want possible spoilers but I will read them, 100%. So my opinion cannot be made by comparing books vs series. Just a clarification, it was not pain and destruction but pain and desperation. Personally I didn’t fell confused in understanding things, perhaps because I don’t have in my mind like you a story that I already know and that I expect to be adapted if not the same, at least similar. It's all new to me and so I didn’t wonder to myself why they did this or that and so I didn’t start thinking about things like "where do they want to go with the story". I enjoyed this season, I didn't find it beautiful but I've seen it three times so I think it means that I appreciated it. But again, my opinion isn't worth that much because I don't know anything about The Witcher universe. In your faces I can see the pain and confusion you feel about what you are looking at and I am so sorry for that, but I understand it perfectly, it must be tough. Fortunately, I will do the opposite of you. First i’ll see the series and then i’ll read the books, so I won’t have disappointments but two different stories about the same universe. Anyway, i checked the map and yes, there are some "Game of Thrones last seasons" vibes about quick travel from one place to another. I'm a little scared for the last episode, I hope your judgment doesn't get even worse about the series, because I would pay again next year to see your reactions to the third season even if i know it will be difficult for you to continue it. It makes me sad that you won't see Season 3, but the choice is yours and must be respected. Anyway I want to thank you for your company!

Personally, I've not read the books - this season started off really well from my perspective, but it just went downhill really fast, and by the end, it felt like the show had a totally different vibe to it than from season 1, I'll probably continue into season 3, but, I don't have high hopes anymore.
