We are watching the series on Wakanim (same as Funimation or Crunchyroll)

Once again we get a much needed look into the past, as Keith explains his story as a bystander. It really bridged some gaps for us, and now we at least know a little bit more about the Jaeger family.

Hiii. I'm so excited that you guys are getting into the second part of the season soon! You might want to watch episode 16 17 & 18 together if you have time to do so. Not saying that there will be anything wrong if you don't do that. The three episodes are like a little arc within the second part and I just feel like the experience would be better if they are watched in a roll. Again, just a little suggestion. It's totally fine if you can't do that! Nice reaction as always :)) have a good one

You probably already know this because your mods are great but just to make sure: the part 2 opening is spoilery

Also to clear up some timeline misunderstandings. It was already mentioned in episodes 5 and 6 or 7 iirc that Grisha‘s attack on the Reiss family was on the same day the walls were breached.

Angry Intellect

Not sure if mods told you but ep 12 ending contains " something ". Are you guys watching it or avoiding it ?

Im in the watch it camp :D It makes for great reactions and its just a cool wtf moment :)

Angry Intellect

Im in the watch it camp too, but not sure they will react it since they've been avoiding even S3 opening which doesn't contain any spoilers.

But you should watch ending of episode 19 and 22. Same as season 1 episide 25

Malak

Will you consider reacting to them once you wrap up the show? Edit: It wouldn't be a big deal if you didn't react, but I would certainly recommend watching them in your own time at least

Malak

Pretty sure they've said a few times that they're watching it

Cation

Because he was born into this world. God this show never stops to amaze me, even those quiet episodes are so needed. Tatakae all the way guys you are soon there!

I like how when everyone is calling Marlow an idiot because he can't tell that Hitch likes him, Eren says 'Marlow said nothing wrong'. Multiple times characters have commented on the similarities between Marlow and Eren and here is another one, Eren is also oblivious to 'signals'.

This was the episode that made me appreciate this show in an entirely new way. Not only for all of those other things you guys mentioned about the whole concept of being a "bystander", but because of this strange pattern of characters repeating phrases that other characters have said before, word for word. When Carla says "because he was born into this world" as the reason for Eren being "special", I had completely forgotten that Eren said the exact same thing in the Trost arc when Armin was trying to shake him out of his Titan coma. Armin asked him why he wanted to go outside the walls someday, and inside his delusion Eren says something like "Isn't it obvious? Because I was born into this world!" and then his imagination bursts into flames and he's back in control of his titan. In hindsight, that scene is so bizarre to me now, because there's no way he remembered his mom saying that to Keith all the way back when he himself was just a baby. So why did he choose those words specifically? I'm not really sure, but it gives a very ethereal, connecting sense to the whole story, as if everything has happened for a reason, and I don't know if that has any actual plot significance, or it's just a poetic way that Isayama wrote his story, but it's beautiful either way. I would keep an eye out for other characters repeating sentiments that they've never heard before, as it happens a few more times after this.

I really like how the author always brings up stuff back later. Like with Sadies in this episode. Conny...

I forgot about what a good episode this is! The ending with Carla is so powerful. Especially since we know how "special" Eren has been to the whole of humanity at this point. I mean, he plugged the wall! I also always love when the episode fades into the ending song.
