I was feeling all high and mighty when you were surprised that Grogu was with Luke. Like, who else would he be with? But then Ahsoka made me choke on my drink and then Cad Bane made me absolutely flip my tits off! I was kind of surprised at Luke’s adherence to the Jedi notion of non-attachment. I thought a central theme of the prequels and clone wars was that the Jedi had become too stultified and removed from the common people, which caused Ahsoka to quit the Jedi and Anakin to go bananas. I’m sure you’ve seen the Dave Filoni clip where he describes Qui-gon Jin as a would be father figure to Anakin, and one who understood the problems with the Jedi way, and sought to form some sort of middle way. Maybe Grogu will be able to complete that vision.

My thought was that Ahsoka got to Luke and said look attachments are bad. This happened to your dad with your mom. You can also see this being the cause of his downfall with Ben Solo. He wasn't attached to Ben as his nephew and just a student. And this lack of understanding and attachment led to disaster.

I just finished watching the full reaction, and I had some new thoughts after watching it for a 3rd time. What if Grogu takes the armor and returns to Mando cause the attachment is just too strong for him to give it up for the Jedi life. So Luke loads him up in the X-Wing and flies him to Tattoine to give him back to Mando. Well, at this point the war with the Pikes has started and its not going well for Boba, Mando, Fennic and company. Well, here comes a Jedi Master and his student. Grogu see them in trouble and asks Luke to help. I could see it going a couple of ways. Luke goes into Jedi mode and wipes out the Pikes army. Or to add some spice to it, he throws Yoda's lightsaber to Grogu and Master and Apprentice go into battle together and save the day. Then at the end of the day maybe Grogu changes his mind and decides to train as a Jedi. Maybe Mando talks him into going back to being a Jedi cause its who he is. So many possiblities with this.

Shouldn’t Ahsoka of all people know that the right way to practice non-attachment is in the Buddhist sense, where you fully allow yourself to feel your emotions, and then let them pass away as all things do. As opposed to just repressing all emotion and ending up semi-sociopathic a la Ki-Adi-Mundi. I don’t see why Grogu has to choose, after all he wouldn’t be the first Mandalorian/ Jedi. I guess I just really want to see the little dude flipping around with a mini Dark Sabre and Mando helmet!
