Ah yes flashbacks, Naruto is pretty notorious for them lol. Sometimes they can get out of hand

The main reason for the high number of flashbacks is the tight anime production schedule of the time. They had to reduce their work as much as possible to keep the manga animated (1 episode/1 week) for a very long time. Please understand that the situation is different from the current anime production environment. And please focus on their delicate work on the "movements", which is never inferior to today's animation.

I know, and I totally understand why they had to do it this way. The fights and the movements are most definitely high quality 👍 My complaints about the pacing and the flashbacks are not really that serious, and mostly said in a jokingly way 😊
