Book 3 hype! This first chapter was pretty damn awesome, and there are already a bunch of questions popping up in our heads. We can't wait to find out what's going on!

I love Korra's growth shown in this first episode. She is so much calmer and is allowing people to help her more. Plus Asami and Korra! Friends! My favorite part of this episode is their conversation in the car. Extreme communism meaning like he wanted everyone to be equal. Just the general 'idea' of communism I meant. Like Amon has a point and you could easily agree with what he said, but he took it too far clearly.

Ahh extremism, got ya! Every ideology can be taken too far, and Amon was for sure guilty of that in a way. And yes, Asami and Korra bonding was freaking awesome!

LOL @ kat 🤣💖, this is actually one of my faves episodes of the series , im so happy with the way they handled the whole korra mako asami thing ,and everyone in this season seems more relaxed even korra even tho she stills needs to deals with problems we can appreciate her progress ,same with tenzin like you guys mentioned ,anyways can't wait til u guys get more into this! 👍

The creators always said that they wanted who gets bending to be somewhat mysterious. Stating its both genetics and spiritual, they have also said that bending also has to do with your environment. They based this idea and I quote "the only constant is change, variation, that sorta thing". So in the end we just don't know how its decided who gets bending and why lol. Harmonic Convergence caused a spiritual shift causing airbending to activate in order to restore balance to the world. Here are some quotes on what they have said about bending "We didn't want it to be like there is a lineage...a royal family or something...and these people can bend and then there's everyone else as non-bending, people who never will. Some sort of caste system. Mike and I are more attracted to more of the flux type universe." "You have some genetic basis for potential, but you could go your whole life without developing the talent into ability. Some people have more inherent talent than others, while others with minimal inherent talent can still develop it through hard work and practice. Perfect example is Katara, she's powerful waterbender that was born from 2 non-bender parents. Toph might be too, although there was no evidence that confirmed whether her parents could bend or not.

Okay, that actually means any of their arguments does not contradict bending as being a mainly evolutionary and genetic thing 🤷🏼 au contraire! (Except the point where harmonic convergence restore balance by granting airbending on a random basis, but that is some cosmic interference and besides my point anyway)

I didn't mean it as you were contradicting what they were saying, just that in way everyone is right. That bending is given in more than one way. Like you said genetic and evolutionary, but also spiritual interference as well. I wasn't trying to say you were wrong lol just sharing how the creator's saw bending
