What an amazing journey they took us on during these two episodes. We loved every second of it! It certainly taught us (and Korra!) a lot about the world, the spirits, and especially the Avatar.

A couple of interesting facts: - According to the artbook for the second book, the field where Wan dies is the same place that Zuko passed through in the series "Zuko Alone". The similarity can be seen in the giant stone coins sticking out of the ground. - Also, according to the creators, they were thinking about the first Avatar branch back during the second season of ATLA. But they did not write this story, because there was no place for this in the series. - The order in which Wan studied the elements became the order in the Avatar cycle (Fire, Air, Water, Earth)

It is a shame Wan's story was made just for two episodes. Could have been an amazing mini-series on its own.

Glad you guys enjoyed these episodes. Just a warning though that the next episode has the iffy animation again. Back to normal after that! Can't wait for all the cool stuff to come in this season! And Season 3 and 4 :O Even though I adore these two episodes, the very best of LoK hasn't even happened yet sooooo I'm pumped.

'We are bonded forever' follewed up by the avatar state and with the ATLA music in the background... Always gives me chills

Yes! I found it interesting that they chose to START with fire. Maybe because Roku was Avatar at the start of the war? But they could have started anywhere in the cycle but chose a firebender
