Things get even more intriguing during this episode, and as we expected, we get to dive into Amos' backstory in Baltimore. Loved all of it, but we are so invested in these characters by this point, it was tough to watch at times.

That first shot of Baltimore was shot using a helicopter to come over the water, which then handed the camera off to a crane that dropped the camera down, to hand it off to the DP as it got in tight on Amos. Such a beautiful shot

I think they put a Simpsons reference in there around 21:20 on Amazon video, or 23:35 on the video above. You hear a vendor in the background selling Crab Goulash, then he says "No Bowl, ... Stick! Stick!" which is what a Crab Goulash vendor said to Homer Simpson in one episode.

Not that I'm trying to get you guys hooked onto an entirely new series, but the actor who played Charles also played a central role in The Wire. One of the best crime shows ever, which is also set in Baltimore, and specifically shows how rough life can be in that city. As a huge fan of both series, it was just a really nice touch. I'm sure there are many actors who could have done that part really well. Casting someone that as an outsider I already associate with Baltimore was great.

Second time through and yes, it is so damn good!! Interesting speech by Sauveterre (which someone pointed out means Savior of the earth!!) The scenes on Mars are so stark and deeply terrifying in a way completely different from the overcrowded Earth. The actor Jacob Mendell playing Erich is having a ball with his turn on The Expanse and is on some of the Expanse groups interacting with fans which is so cool. He completely nails that part! These episodes get more emotional with rewatching for sure! I am so happy to be watching with you guys!!

And I don't think Erich is dealing in child prostitution because if that were true I think Amos would just outright kill him because he would not stand for that in any way. Of course drugs are definitely being dealt, possibly adult prostitution but not kids. Im not so sure about the kid in the doorway. That might be real and Amos is just on the lookout for that and it does remind him of his terrible childhood. The child actor they got to play him on the dock with Lydia was amazing with his resemblance to Amos!!

I’ve always thought the expanse universe should’ve been placed more like 150 years from modern day as opposed to 400+ years. It’s just too similar to modern day. If you’d like to see more of the street life of Baltimore than The Wire is the show for you! (nudge nudge, wink wink, subtlesubtle)
