The plot thickens! This anti bending group led by the mysterious Amon, they are really interesting and very capable. We can't wait to dive even further into this story!

I have been struggling a lot with copyright blocks this week, and it has taken up a big chunk of my time, so the early reaction will come out tomorrow instead.

Just a little heads up about season 2 for you Kat and Sonny; There's been a studio change for season 2, resulting in degraded animation quality. It picks up after that with the original studio and gets back to being the way it was.

Not the whole season. Just until after... those episodes.

Hey you can also watch a short 7ish minute clip on youtube called Rebublic City Hustle that shows mako and bolins past. Gives you a bit of more background

I'm so glad you guys like Amon! He's one of my favorite villains. Like you mentioned, I love that they didn't make him all one dimensional, and we get to see why he believes what he's doing is 'the right thing'.

This is the link to it. Worth a watch Eve. If you don't react to it https://youtu.be/T6dUr6LyJGo

Amon is great. I really like Korra's world 'widening' as the seasons go on. She really learns... a lot by the end of the series lol. From being pretty sheltered, to jumping head first into being the Avatar really takes a toll. That's all I'll say haha.

i think this was the episode when i dropped korra when it was being aired on nickelodeon ,but now im gonna watch it again with u guys ,i think i was just overwhelmed about how different everything was and how i just didn't like korra as the avatar at all but hopefully that changes now~ also i like how in atla and lok both ,the word "permanently" its so often used

i hope it changes for you this time. i watched season 1 in 2012 when it came out and dropped it. decided to continue with seasons 2-4 just a couple of months ago 😬😅 but i was invested to the point that i ended up finishing 3 seasons in 2 weeks.

Amon is way overboard but I think part of his argument about bending is similar to arguments about having guns but exacerbated. He argues that allowing people the power to light a house on fire, drown someone, or crush someone at the tips of their fingertips or the whims of their mood is a recipe for constant disaster; even moreso when half or less of society is genetically unable to do so. Then you add in representation etc and I can see why many non-benders might feel a bit put off at least. Kind of similar to the debate with the mutants and the Avengers during Civil War.

Sonny: "Maybe it happened in an alley..." 😂 Why did you go so savage?

Did you see Mako working in the power plant as a lightning bender?

Bolin really does remind you of sokka until later on when his character is more fleshed out and he comes into his own. i can't wait for y'all to see how these characters develop.

This is the last episode I saw before stopping. Look forward to seeing for the first time with you guys. I have heard things here and there but really know nothing about the show.

You should watch "Republic City Hustle" on YouTube. It is a canon short about Mako and Bolin.

Yep I posted a link above for them if they want to watch it. Worth a watch I would say. Bit of a backstory to them.

Without spoiling anything there are political/spiritual idealistic themes that are explored in all seasons. Amon represents Communism. You'll start to pick up what the others are as you move on to the other season. Also its these type of political themes that took some people out of the show and critique that but was too westernized. However, Bryan & Mike (the creators) said that their inspiration for this new era was based off the west like New York as much the westernization of the east like in Hong Kong and Beijing.

This is what I fear. Especially since I feel very strongly about politics, and will have troubles shutting up about my thoughts and feelings about such. I don't want to scare away people because I am deeply disagreeing with the beliefs portrayed. Kat
