Okaaay then, that was certainly a fun and interesting way of doing a series recap right before the big finale 😅 So much meta humour going on in this one!

theres some silly theories about this episode, but one i really like is about why toph’s character is a buff man. since the stories are all first/second hand stories, maybe no one wanted to admit they got beat up by a little girl lol

The one that I always bring up is that a lot of people (myself included) think that the actress playing Aang is one of Ty Lee's sisters

Guys please upload all four parts of the finale on the same day. I don’t think I’ll be able to wait two days😭

Great reaction and discussion (as usual) from you guys. Especially for an episode like this one which is basically a series recap before plunging into the finale. It doesn't necessarily give you a lot to chew on beyond that. But there is a little bit there. I said it a while back but this show is incredibly self-aware and it shows in spades with this one. Another meta joke that you may have missed was the Zuko's scar reference. There are a couple of scenes over the course of the series where it was on the wrong side of his face. The creators poke a little fun at themselves here for that.

As always I love the discussion that you guys have. You both made great points about the Aang and Katara situation. I also see where both sides are coming from. Excited for your reaction to the finale!

The ending where they criticise the play "but the effects were decent" was what people said when the movie version for the show came out by M. Night lol.

Now you finally know where tearbending comes from :D Fun Fact before the Siege of the North Zhao talked about how is victory over the Southern Water Tribe would go down in history and people would talk about him. A few months later not even the Fire Nation can remember him and him capturing Aang in the Blue Spirit Episode is supposedly something Zuko did XD

YAY! You made me so happy by not just noticing the cabbage man joke but getting a good laugh from it. :)

There were no details they got right, really at all let alone ones you had to know to be there. They only had major events witnessed by lots of people. Every reactor I've watched has that comment but it's actually not true. Like Jet, the Dai Li were exposed so everyone would know they brainwashed people I think. I think they did a good job of portraying how a girl would actually feel. They idea of becoming romantic in a prison with a guy who spent months stalking and attacking you is openly mocked. (Though some people miss the point and see it as confirmation but oh well.) This episode reminded Katara of Aang dying, it was played out right in front of her again, and right after the whole episode about her mothers death. She was afraid of loosing him. They show their female characters so much better than most shows ever do.

Ember Island Players is the best and most self-reflective recap episode ever!

All hail the great cabbage merchant :-) Loving your reactions as always

The guy that voiced actor Sokka sounded like Robin

10 years later and my heart still hurts from that movie.

I was so ready to watch you guys watching the finale. Now it's finally here and I'm not so sure if I am ready.

I think you made a good point about why Aang is kind of adamant about getting Kitara right now. When I first saw this, I was like "Aang, this is not the time, just be patient man!" To the audience, it's just the finale left and the assumption is everything will be great, but to Aang, he legitimately doesn't know if he can survive a fight with the Firelord. Also, at the end, he just watched himself easily be defeated by the Firelord to a standing ovation, so that probably doesn't help his confidence either. I think this is a semi-filler episode, but there is one element of it that is a deeper one. The play is essentially Fire Nation propaganda, which we see more of this season (this episode, Aang's time in Fire Nation school, etc), so that's kind of cool.

The final episodes are officially among us. Can't wait to see and hear your reactions. You definitely should make at least 2 reactions for the finale. There's going to be so much stuff in each episodes to talk about that going through the whole finale in one go might end up feeling.... bloated? Personally, I would be happy with 4 reactions (for each episodes) considering every episode have a lot to talk about anyways. Can't wait
