This was a very interesting episode, where we got a little bit of everything. But it is clear to see, now that we've gotten to the Peleliu arc, things will get rougher from here on.

Hey if you’re listening to “With The Old Breed” on audiobook then you’d probably really enjoy this channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9zsPbVf01Q) on YouTube that matches the segments of the show to the points in the book they’re based on. Its interesting to compare the two and see how they chose to portray the material.

As an American that loves learning about history, most of what i have learned has been independent research, in school we spend maybe 2 weeks on the world wars, so we skim over everything but the big points, Pearl Harbor, Normandy, Iwo, Okinawa, Nukes... and 1 day on the Holocaust. But after this show I know i have said it before but I still highly recommend Generation Kill, which is a great contrast to the Pacific as it follows the Marines of the 1st Recon Battliaion who where at the tip of the Spear of the 2003 Iraq invasion and Marines have said its the most accarete representation of what it was like.

The water thing might now seem that big a deal but it was unusually hot on Pelelui during the battle. The normal temperature is normally around 31 C I found several articles that mention temperatures of 46 C. Then add to that the stress and physical exertion of combat makes me wonder how many men died of heat exhaustion.

Why do you guys skip the beginning. Not the song but before that. It shows the Vets speak and then Tom Hanks Narrates as they show strategy on the map. Please consider including it. Its very helpful.

I have the DVD set and it doesn’t have any of that in the beginning. Are you using a digital version or DVD?
