Intro shows "special appearance by Thomas Jane." Delta-V (Δv) is the physics term for change in velocity, or what the sling-shoter experience when he entered the ring.

Uhhh...u guys totally missed the reason why u weren't supposed to watch the opening credits, and you never discussed it. You're the only reactors that didn't have a major reaction to that. I don't know if u guys watched X-Files, but the scientist guy played the smoking man's son in the show.

Hi you two, besides Miller being credited in the intro, part of the reason why they sped up the timeline is because this show had not been renewed at this point. So instead of stretching out the story so the book ends halfway through season 4, they skipped the non essential part and "finished" the book/story in a manner in which S3 could have conceivably been the end of the series altogether. The fact syfy cancelled the show and it got saved by Amazon at the last hour was very fortunate. After S3 ends, books will now end per season starting with S4, so no more mid season finales or cliffhangers.

Enjoyed your reaction. The opening credits gave away the reappearance of Miller. The scientist was Spender in the X-Files David Stathairn is another top shelf actor. Drummer has brought her badassery to the Behemoth and I'm enjoying the banter between her and Ashford. Yep, she definitely has him figured out. The videographer is blind and can use those drones to see. If you look at his arms there's a bunch of sensor webbing under his skin. Loved the Belter covers of Highway Star and All By Myself. The title on the video message screen says "Showxating". I read it as "Show-dat-Ting". Great name for a video chat app.

The reasoning for the documentary crew is because the crew of the Rocinante is literally the most newsworthy thing happening in the solar system. They survived the Canterbury, the Donnager, laid claim to a MCRN Corvette, helped expose a massive government conspiracy involving first contact with extra terrestrial life, etc etc. I mean, they're the hottest thing in media.

The reason people did not want you to watch the intro was to keep you from knowing that Thomas Jane is back this season as Miller. The biggest complaint is that in the book, Naomi is still aboard the Roci, however, the showrunners did not want to have to introduce a whole new character for the Behemoth's Chief Engineer for just the one season and Naomi worked.

The ring appears to generate a field that decelerates anything crossing the boundary-layer of the ring (to prevent missiles being fired through it). Apparently it only decelerates the shell (like the ship) and not its contents (like Meno).

The camera-operator with the documentary crew is BLIND and uses the telemetry from his cameras to map the interior of the Roci and to discover things.

I apologize if that was some kind of spoiler. I concluded that the sling-ship had suffered massive deceleration based on the visual evidence presented by the way the ship responded in passing through the ring and the trauma done to the pilot.

David Strathairn is one of the great character actors around! His role as Klaes Ashford is simply amazing. If you haven't seen him in the past he is in many great films including Eight Men Out, Good Night and Good Luck, A League of their Own, Lincoln, and We are Marshall just to name a few. I was thrilled to see him in The Expanse!
