I've never played the Witcher video-game and so I'm not as invested in the character as some of my younger friends. I was unaware until recently (just this past week) that there was a book series, and I will likely pick up and read a couple of those. Elsewhere I have posted my discontent with Season One of this series leaping from one time/space to another with no indicators of when/where the action is taken place, however, I'm pleased that you were able to see where the time-jumps occurred.

I loved the show, but u're not alone on that. It was, at the very least, a bit confusing

Yen's story starts a bit before Geralts, then catches up to his quickly, then they both catch up to Ciri's. There is NO indicator at all of these things and most people are not immediately catching it unless you're heavily vested in the source material.

There definitely are many indications of this throughout the season. At times it's even spelled out for you literally.

As a book reader (never really got on with the games), I thoroughly enjoyed the first season. It'll be interesting to see your views on the rest of the season.

I'm not at all familiar with the source material, so completely lost about different timelines, but I'm liking the look of the series. I don't understand why Renefried (sp?) turned on Giralt after their hookup in the woods. That didn't make sense to me.

She wanted the revenge on Stregobor all the time. In the books, she's very straight forward about that. She wanted to murder the whole town to draw out Stregobor for her revenge. She probably didn't want Geralt to get involved, but offered him the ultimatum: to stop her or not, knowing Geralt would be looking like the murderer of 8 innocent people, because the townsfolk would not know of the plot Renfri had planned. Thereby forcing Geralt to choose between evils, and what he would think was the lesser one.
