Jonas tells his grandmother Innes that he wants things to become normal. What does that mean, because if that happens Jonas wouldn't exist? Is he really being altruistic and willing to sacrifice himself? Escaping the pain of his existence?

I don't know why, but Egon is one of my favorite characters. He's sort of a victim of the the universe which keeps shitting on him as he's trying to make sense of things beyond his comprehension like being rained on by birds, dead sheep, satanic worshippers, dead kids, a crazy murderer from '53 who seems to know him, despises him, and quotes lyrics from Thrash Metal of the 80's, and a kid who's playing the same song in '86 and he recognizes the lyrics. I guess he didn't even understand his wife. I feel sorry for the guy.
