They had long sleeves before but needed something more summer-y for the hot days. I'm sure the grand Limbo between worlds gets hot too. And I do indeed have some story ideas written for adventures for the staff but some stuff has to happen first and I'm also not sure how to implement it without messing with the whole user theme voting aspect.
