It seems like Richmond is going to stay as a regular Agent to try to woo his boss. A man of fine tastes going after those secret demon ladies.

And not even something like being digested and spat out can keep a Sin down! Destructor Sins or not, they're a hearty group! Looking... a bit worse for wear after Abstract tried to, you know, eat them, but they're still out and about.

And the last of our scrapped story ideas, another proposed ending:

The other ending jumped even further ahead in time, with the Agents finishing up their careers and moving into retirement/their last years. Rich and Vi have aged normally and appear old, but since Lust is a possessor, she can give Tolli more and more energy so he's more demon than human at this point and still appears young.

I never really wrote out where to take this ending, because it felt like too much of a bummer compared to how lighthearted the comic was. For a darker series, I would have gone with this because it feels both sweet and sad. You know they were successful in life and remained friends to the end, but you're also seeing Vi and Rich accepting that this is it. They'll have to say good-bye to each other and their Manitou, but Sloth and Gluttony will still go on and also have Lust/Tolli at their side. And Tolli has to experience what the Manitou do with seeing their human friends' limited lifespans versus demons living for ages. I like the acceptance/peace that leaves everybody with in what would be a usually sad moment of having your cast die. There's a bit of sadness but it's all about friendship so it stays happy.
