Cursynaries Issue 1 Page 1 (Patreon)

It's page 1 of our brand new series, Cursynaries! A cautionary tale on why you shouldn't fall in love with your own placeholder names on files!

So much to say for page 1! As Mercynaries fans can see, Cursy is a continuation of Mercs and, as not so subtly hinted in the end of the series, features our lovable not-Divine Willow as our new main character. And joined by her partner, Maw!

This is a great jumping in point to the universe for new readers, but there will be plenty to see for everybody that read the first series. So where are we in the timeline? We're starting a bit back from the current state of Mercs. Right now out in the multiverse, Clem was recently born, so we're right after the end of issue 9, and Willow's not quite the fine upstanding individual you thrust into the babysitter role.

What's the story philosophy here? Mercynaries was all about a lot of short stories and moving through a bunch of situations, but Cursynaries is going to be about fewer clients per issue but spending more time with each of them. Maybe around 3/4 clients per issue compared to Mercs's around 8.

The update schedule is going to stay the same, with updates on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday my time. Adjust based on your relationship to the International Date Line as preferred. We'll be posting the introductory setup pages for everybody and then it's going to be on a system similar to Sins. $1 Patrons get access to all the current pages and at the end of the month, the comics get archived and are available to everybody at the $4 level. The Mercynaries archives is staying at the $1 level, so that plentiful backlog isn't changing.
