Urgh. Two different teams had to have worked on the first act and then the second. It went from being outstanding to being a total slog I'm not enjoying at all. Constantly taking control away from you and forcing you to walk at a snail's pace, camera problems in and out of battle, boss fights where the bosses can just make themselves invincible and you have to wait for it to wear off, enemies that just run away or fly high up where it's a pain to fight them, and the cutscenes. Gods, the endless, poorly written overly anime cutscenes. I just came off an hour stretch of: walk forward for a tiny bit, cutscene, regain control, walk forward, cutscene, forced slow walk segment, cutscene, and on and on. Even everything I loved about the audio direction is nowhere to be seen.

I'm still not done with it, but it went from being one of the best games this generation to a reminder on why I don't play Square's games anymore.
