Quick Critique: Hilda (Patreon)

For the animation fans in the audience, if you have access to Netflix, I totally recommend giving Hilda a watch. It has some of the most outright enjoyable animation and a great mythology. Think Gravity Falls but more earnest and more Scandinavian mythology. It's still a kids' show, so liberal use of fast forwarding is recommended, but it's so well drawn and directed that it's worth a watch even when they diving into today's moral lesson. They do a really nice job of building an overarching story through the whole season and it's fun when characters from early episodes pop up in later ones, sometimes they re-enter the plot and are major influences and other times it's just the world's cutest soul-sucking witch mice hiding under a bed.
