Fun fact for the Patreon version of the update: One of the story ideas I worked on before Mercynaries was to have a transformation-based secret agent comic. I eventually turned it into the coming pages, but the old one was the birthplace of Sam's name! Instead of having a numerical code for the agents (like "007") all of the characters had the code name of "SAM", which stood for "Secret Agent Man". I dug the name due its gender-neutral vibe but still having a kind of sinister government cover-up feel, so our Sam kept it for her name. I decided to honor that old story by making Ruth and Sam super into a secret agent mission. That kind of thing brings everybody together!
