Chapter 2: A New Life

Rico has been wandering through the city, trying to keep a low and reserved profile and hiding his face from the strangers he passes. His arms are crossed under his chest, but that just pushes his figure out more and draws attention.

As he wanders the city, Rico ignores the sights and fantastical buildings, until he stops in front of a random shop. A "help wanted" display flickers in the window.

Rico cautiously steps through their bubble door and glances around. It looks like a normal store, even though he doesn't know what the devices they're selling actually do. A tall, lanky alien with several arms is both cleaning a counter and rearranging a display as Rico slides up to the counter. "Hey, I- I saw your sign out front."

The shopkeep looks down upon Rico but then lights up after a brief moment. "We'd be thrilled to have a diversity hire!"
