Chapter 2: A New Life

Rico cautiously enters a bubbled door on the building in front of him. It melts away from the center to the edges to allow him in and then reforms to seal the building.

Inside, the building is a plastic-y sparse office. It has the feel of a waiting room rather than any grand alien structure. Light just seems to emanate from above rather than from any devices. The chairs are all empty and the tables bare so the room funnels you towards a desk at the front. A counter hides the view of the nook but a giant alien creature sits at the desk tapping away at something. It towers over Rico but looks vaguely female and nurse-like with its outfit.

She finally takes notice of Rico's stumbling around and looks down at him. She has multiple eyes, which are glossy pods that independently move but they soon all focus on Rico. "What do you need?", she intones, her voice commanding but not pushy.

Rico looks up at her with a furrowed brow and raised shoulders. "A card?"

Author's Notes:

Chapter 2 commences! Rico gets to encounter more aliens, more adventures, more searching for gift cards, and hopefully no more getting stuffed in alien tubes. But that's probably definitely totally going to happen.
