This might be a boring post but I wanted to share some of the goings-on with Hush Hush. I was working on the UI and userflow stuff when a studio that specializes in design/UI approached me to help out. I'm giving them a shot but I am not sure if they're really hitting it quite right. English isn't their main language so maybe they're not understanding my feedback, but in any case I wanted to share what they got and compare it to some of my older UI mockups. If you really like the stuff they have made then that's great - please let me know :) I just wasn't picturing such a bright/normal looking UI for the game. And in some cases like you see above they literally copied some of the UI from Crush Crush and put different colors on it, lol.

That was my first thought, honestly -- their UI mockup very much has a Crush Crush aesthetic. And honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about that. If this makes sense, and I doubt it... I'd like to see something that looks *like* CC, but isn't a carbon copy. Overall, I'd have to say that I like the coloration and overall design of the SPS UI, but I'm more preferential to the layout present in the third-party offering, comparing the two date screens. Finally, I have one question. In either case, will the bottom menu-bar be locked, or will there be an option to hide it when not in use?

Your original UI is definitely more fitting for the tone of Hush Hush. Theirs would be fine if this was just a Crush Crush sequel.

Actually maybe I should stop making posts before bed. I do like both, and honestly I'd be okay either way, I think I am leaning a bit more towards the original, but neither would be a deal breaker, so go with your gut.

I feel like that bright UI doesn't work at all with the backgrounds. It feels out of place and jarring.

I think the new UI makes it look a little too 'professional', as if you were looking at projected revenue for Q4. Not a boring post at all, it's always fun to get to know what's going on. But something has me wondering now, since there are what I assume is meant to be immoral/evil jobs, will there be any form of 'pushback' when doing them? Like will the girls hate you if they find out? (Well, depending on the person) Or is there a risk of getting caught, or anything like that?

I agree with your sentiment. You've got real world aesthetic expertise and know what would look good for your target audience. Contract designers that aren't super expensive are just generally looking for churning out another day's work 😹

the light background doesn't fare well. I prefer your darker background and style.

Aww everyone is on the same page, it helps me out a lot! I think I'm going to have my work cut out for me fixing their UI... but at least it gets me there sooner than me doing it all from scratch. Thanks for your input!

The light/dark side stuff is really interesting - it might be better to have OjiPanda explain it all. So I'll bug him to do a Kickstarter post about it :D
