I think this is probably the story arc people were most excited for y'all to experience with the original FMA. It was a few episodes longer and got you attached to the family more. Edit: In the manga, the author drew little doodles at the end of the chapter of Nina and Alexander as angels going to heaven, but drew Shou Tucker burning in hell.

I could be mistaken, but I think it was 2 episodes long and the aftermath of how Ed struggled to cope with Nina's death rolled over into a 3rd episode...

You really should re-watch this Episode in English again! Way more chills! Btw. The frist chimera who wished to get "unalived", was the mother.

Kristopher

I can hear J Michael Tatum's voice in my mind with his prayer: "Oh merciful God who shapes us all, please return these scarred souls to your unending womb..." (redacting the second half because spoilers?)

I guess I will also add, that in 2003 this arc was tied up in with Ed and Al taking their certification exams to become State Alchemists, so being a bit younger, this was their first true encounter with malevolent actors where they witnessed first hand the extreme brutality of what kind of evil is possible with the powers of alchemy, so it affects them a lot harsher.

i do hope you guys try the dub on this one its iconic and its really good but understand if you continue with the sub

IIRC, it was even darker in the first anime because Roy introduced the boys to Tucker right after Ed took the exam, on his 12th birthday.

It's almost impossible to not be spoiled for this particular episode. Too many jokes about the cute girl and her dog being inseparable... Tucker used to be #1 on every Most Hated Anime Character list. I'm willing to bet he's still in the top 5 even now. (Now that I think about it, does what he did not count as "human transmutation"? Why not? Is that a translation issue, and the specific crime is trying to raise someone from the dead?) Scar's actions were a mercy in this case. Nina would've been sent to a lab, the boys would not have been able to protect her.
