Wooooo! Moving on from Code Geass- an anime classic, to FMA- another anime classic! We wanted to start off with the original then swap to Brotherhood but the original can't be legally watched anywhere.. and we can't ask ya'll to go to the sea's to find it on your own so we decided to just stick to Brotherhood! Hope ya'll still enjoy!! ♥

Thanks for watching!!

Welcome to the FMA fandom! Don't worry too much about not being able to watch the 2003 series. While it would flesh things out more Brotherhood does a great job at bringing you up to speed over the first dozen or so episodes. Just enjoy the ride. Brotherhood is considered one of the gold standards of anime, up there with the likes of Cowboy Bebop for must-watch series and the amount of talent and effort that went into it is incredible. You guys are in for a treat with this one!

Not sure why people told you to watch the old show first, you pretty much get the same thing just in a different order, would just be weird for me. The old one is still worth a watch though, got a bit of a different vibe to it and it goes in a completely different direction after a while. Also it seems Brotherhood is a pain to watch (legally) here in Sweden. Seems to gone from Crunchyrool, Prime, HBO AND netflix which all have had it in the past...

Hope you enjoy the show! One of my all time favs, looks like you guys are watching it in subbed personaly I think this show has one of the best Dubs of all time and lots of people (including my self) think its better than the sub. Not saying switch or anything, just getting the info out there! Either way hope you love it as much as I do

Idk. If it helps you for a better experience but... I would suggest to watch it with the English Dub. This Anime has one of the best Dub.

I will say this episode is a lot more interesting on a rewatch. There are a bunch of little things to pick up on. Also, the dub for this is phenomenal, I'd recommend giving it a shot.

Fun fact: The woman whose vibe you liked at the end of the episode in the English dub is voiced by Laura Baily, aka Vexahlia, from Vox Machina. Cough, cough. The English dub is pretty amazing as well, and since crunchy roll subtitles won't display while popped-out dub watching is a must!

All right, if you're doing full length FMAB reactions, I'm in :) Excellent choice. Even more excited to read that you're doing the subtitled version. While FMAB does have an excellent English dub, I still think the original voices and script are superior, and you're the only reactors so far I have seen go with them. (In particular I remember Ed's dialogue having been "Americanized" noticeably for the dub - more brash and sarcastic and less affectionate towards Al. It will be interesting to revisit the original and see if that's accurate.) The 2003 version of the anime is very good in its own way; it did some truly elegant things with the lore and plot. And it's significantly darker (which is saying something!) But FMAB is superior by any metric.

Who told them to watch 2003 until the catch up? That's just heartless.
