If Himmel didn't teach Frieren to not use these destructive "flashy" spells on the defiled corpses serving Aura the Guillotine, out of respect for the remains. We would've seen these spells in that fight.

When watching the conversation between Frieren and Serie, where Serie explains that humans need to basically get shit done because of their short lifespans, and will therefore eventually overtake the elves, I was reminded of a conversation that astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson had concerning immortality. He said that he wouldn't desire immortality, for essentially that very reason. He felt that if humans were immortal (or even just extraordinarily long lived like the elves here), we'd never accomplish much because we'd never feel the need to get off our asses and do things, because we could literally always put it off until tomorrow. I'm not sure I agree, because I'd think that the sameness of life from one day to the next would probably get to be a motivation in and of itself to try and change things. However I agree with the sentiment that I would not want to be immortal -- in fact, I can envision few curses more terrible. We've learned from science that given sufficient time stars, planets, and even supermassive black holes will evaporate away and die, and the universe will expand and decay by entropy to heat heat death. No matter, no light, no life -- where nothing happens, and it keeps NOT happening... FOREVER. What would be the point of continuing to exist through that?

Once again, wonderful flashbacks, both to the OG crew and a bit more Frieren and Serie interactions which is fun. Also, seeing Frieren use non-basic offensive magic is amazing. The simultaneous lifting up, the pre-emptive shields as they move to defend where the other is looking? Chef's kiss. Very easy challenge.

Everyone thinks of using a mimic, but come on! Do you really think Frieren left any mimics behind her in her complete exploration of the Tomb? No way. But the mental image of them throwing a mimic in and then Frieren AND her clone both trying to open it together is hilarious. 3 episodes left in Season 1.

One thing I really like about this episode is how Serie mentions that, as an elf, she can easily delay decisions about her life for like a millennium - which is proven by the fact that in the flashback she is against Flammes wish for Serie to take over being the head teacher of human mages and yet now, a mere thousand years later, she is doing exactly that!

I share Cashew's, "Do you think I'm MADE OF MONEY?!" attitude regarding orange juice.
