This was the episode I really started to like Denken! There's also a single frame during the animation of Frieren breaking the barrier, when the crazy green triangles are fracturing across her body, that she's replaced with a shadowy image of Serie which was an awesome detail.

I do love the little seed planted at the start. Later in the episode, Richter talks about how magic is based on visual imagination which is why Kanne could not manipulate the water in his body so he knows it is impossible. Genau cannot imagine the barrier breaking so it is impossible to him. Frieren saying she cannot imagine beating a mage that controls water in the rain and Richter cannot either, so it is impossible for them to win. At the start, Serie is offended that Flamme says she cannot beat the Demon King, but Flamme retorts that Serie cannot imagine living in a peaceful era. Because she cannot imagine living in such an era, it is impossible for her to bring such an era into existence. Also, Serie's voice actor is the same as Kilua from HunterxHunter.
