Not sure why but we weren't expecting mage on mage violence! Really curious how Fern is going to hold up here! Also how strong is this Denken guy?? Surely Frieren can take him no problem right?

This reaction is watchalong format! If you need help syncing we have included a guide HERE<<<! The guide can be found in our pinned post as well!

Watched this on: Crunchyroll

An important part of a complete Sunday!

Thank you for another delightful reaction! Also, I admire your willpower in being able to stop at the end of the episode and not binge. See you next week!

I don't think it's that Fern only knows basic magic, it's that she was taught to only use basic magic in combat because that's all that would be necessary to win.

German in this Ep: Land = County/land Scharf = Sharp/hot/spicy Ehre = Honor/glory Richter = Judge Laufen = running Geisel = hostage "Misspelled" German (?): Jubelade in Norway = cheerful But Schublade in German = Drawer (Neither of which makes any sense with Scharf's magic, tbh)

Psycho girl's name is "Übel", which means bad, evil, or various other related unpleasant terms. Pronunciation (and mnemonic) note: You can get the sound of her name pretty much exactly right by simply taking the word "Evil" and replacing the "v" with a "b". Dunno whether it was mentioned previously but the psycho punk wizard boy, "Wirbel" means "vortex" (a "Wirbelsturm" is a hurricane), and the bearded monocle wizard's name "Denken", means "thinking". My friends and I just watched episode 22 on Friday night, and there was a new minor character introduced whose name made me laugh out loud. I'll wait until you get to that episode to explain...

A Cashew original, huh? Field Marshal Helmuth von Moltke would like a word! Given the title, the correct phrase to use would be "The best laid plans of mice and men gang aft a-gley." (go oft awry, but the author, Robert Burns, was Scottish so, you know... He's also the guy who wrote "For Auld Lang Syne" that you sing on New Years, for example...)

Rheinhard

Oh, and "Scharf" is "sharp", and "Ehre" is "honor". "Richter" is "judge", and "Laufen" means "to run" or "running".

I will add that Kanne commented how she cannot create water. So the plan was for her to infuse water into pre-existing bodies of water to drive the stille away from them and towards whatever untouched body of water they decided to use. Beyond that, things are definitely heating up. And while I agree that majority of Frieren is the feel good almost slice of life stuff, we still had Qual (short fight), Aura the Guillotine's crew, and a few other moments of combat. Still, I cannot wait for the next week. Or the next week. Or the next week. (Even though there are an ever diminishing number of next weeks).

Can't believe Cashew's been a butterfly swatter this whole time 😢

This episode does not appear in the "Frieren" collection here on Patreon for me, I thought it had been blocked or something.

Blue butterflies are real and apparently there are something around 30 types of them. Also, yeah, Fern is really good at suppressing her mana and most likely because of that we see a lot of animals attracted to her during the series.
