This was such a good episode. I loved every moment. Old Man Voll really hits.

Man, this show masterfully explores characters. They have so much personality and leave so much impact with the little time they get.

I love the subtle Fern and Stark moment that starts around 3:47. Fern is doing her normal "walking on logs is hard" thing, reaches the end and Stark is there offering a hand to help her off of the log. Then it cuts to the party walking with Fern and Stark kind of lagging behind as they are talking and smiling. So good. Just like the rest of this episode, where once again they excel at pulling at heart strings.

Yess they each feel real and unique! Rather than simply moving the plot along , it feels more like they're all adding their own small (but important) piece to a larger painting if that makes sense. Love each character we've met!

"How long do dwarves live?" "300 years or so." "How old is Old Man Voll?" "400." "Everyone who knew of my righteous triumphs has died." -- Kraft the Monk, episode 11

PandaMan

There are two things that I really take away from this episode: 1 - I like that even Voll, a warrior of near 400 years, doesn't know what or where Eureole is. Yet, when we met Kraft, when told about their destination he says, "Ah, you must be pious individuals." To me this means Kraft has been there, and I think he may actually be older than the Demon King. I speculate the reason the Demon King was hunting the Elves, as shown in Frieren's flashback, is in-fact because of Kraft. Maybe he was afraid him, maybe he knew him, I don't know. 2 - The flashback of Himmell and Voll was very bittersweet. I think their exchange could be a clue as to why Himmell never tried to pursue a relationship with Frieren. Voll loved a human, somebody who had a much shorter lifespan than him, and now he lives his entire life almost shackled by the memory of a dead woman as he puts it. I think you can really see the thoughts of Himmell contemplating if he loved Frieren, would he do the same to her? Would his love be more of a curse to her? Those are just my thoughts.
