THE episode. This one weighed me down with a ton of bricks. The songs for this one hit so hard! I love Poison as a track all on its own, but this is the only song I can't bring myself to mainline on repeat since the context is really dang heavy. Still love the performances and holy crap Keith David's voice and singing voice are both so smooth - like a cocoa buttered baby bottom.

For reeaaal was not expecting such a heavy episode! Probably my favourite one so far and they've all been stellar! Likewise though! I love Poison but it's not one of the songs I've been looping for that reason 😢

Not too many things can pull a narrative back so smoothly like "Loser, Baby" does too - despite how terribly I felt for Angel, the song came in like a much needed salve and made us all feel a little bit better by saying Angel simply sucks ass (and more, ayooo!). I didn't think a piece of media could ever do something like that so well, but it turned us from hurting along with Angel's dark spiral into feeling uplifted within a matter of minutes. I have a hard time remembering feeling that good after I watched something so dark and sad.

"Poison" hurt me so "Loser, Baby" could heal me.

It hasn't been explicitly stated in the show but the creator Vivziepop has stated that when a sinner "dies" in hell their bodies slowly put themselves back together. In episode 2 Velvette states she has to wait for her best model to "pull herself together" which in this context is a lot more literal. The process is also noted to be agonizingly painful and slow. There is also the case where a sinner could be atomized and not have anything to reform. IIRC they sort of just respawn and the process is still painful and takes longer. The contracts are made post mortum. I don't recall any living characters making a contract and then eventually ending up in hell. One last tidbit a soul can only be permanently ended by angelic weaponry which is why heaven's cleansings are such a massive issue for hell. Overlords are particularly affected by this since losing souls that were or could be contracted are forever lost.

We saw a little of Charlie's demonic form in episode 1 towards the end of "Hell is Forever". The daughter of Lucifer and Lilith is not a lightweight, but "it would be meeeean!" Sympathies to Cashew for having to edit this for YouTube.
