"This show is what we needed." Yep. Almost every reactor I have seen watch this talk about how something else they watch jaded their perspective. Like more than one person felt certain at the end of episode 1 that Heiter was going to be evil with that necromantic magic because some hero always has to fall or betray or become the new big bad. Frieren defies that with some fairly refreshing wholesomeness. For this episode, I do like the Frieren/Seed Rat parallels. Frieren has lived a long time and has a lot of memories, but just as seed rats bury a lot of seeds but forget where they put some, Frieren does not always remember all of them. Last episode she said she barely knew Himmel, this episode we see her remembering the blue moon weed. Each time we get that flashback, it gets fleshed out more and more.

Man, those flashbacks with Himmel are like remembering when someone I liked but lost contact with. Specifically when they were Blatantly flirting and I only realised well after they had gone.

Pastel is such a perfect way to describe this anime. And if you ever come to europe everything inbetween Alsace, Bayern and the Alps is full of place that fells like this.
