Here we goooo! We're so excited to dive into another show and we've both been super curious about Frieren for a while! It's been recommended by so many of you and a ton of our friends too! To be honest this first episode really blew us away!! This show seems like something special so thanks to everyone who voted!! ❤️

I'd say the thing with the animation and vibe and story that captivates people (or at least me) so much is that it feels like a REAL fantasy. Like your old fashioned fantasy book , your Lord of the Rings type stories. It's like a fairy tail that has fantasy characters with real struggle?! I don't even know what I'm saying lol. Anime these days really diluted the fantasy genre , it can be literally anything at this point (which can be a good thing don't get me wrong) so a new title to be this high production no BS fantasy took people by surprise... I guess :)

I love this show soooo much! The world-building is done subtly and the character writing is amazing! I definitely recommend tissues nearby since the show can hit pretty hard at times.

Ah, this first episode is a masterclass in writing and pacing. Even on my third rewatch I can't believe how much they stuffed into 25 mins and still made the pace feel gentle while delivering that absolute hammer blow to the heart. Add to that the art, the care in all the animation. I can guarantee that you will both remember this one for a very long time.

Yes all shows after Eminence in Shadow and Samurai Champloo will be watchalong format. We announced the change a while back but wanted to finish the shows we had already started before transitioning over!
