My crazypants off-the-wall theory: if the woman we saw wasn't Mizu's mother, then we don't know for certain that her mother was the Japanese parent. Who's to say she won't kill all four white men in Japan, just to find out that her mom is the actual white parent. There's a (presumably Japanese) man who saves baby Mizu, even killing another guy to do it, in the flashback at the start of one of the episodes - maybe daddy had second thoughts? Title of the episode is "The Great Fire of 1657", which was a real world disaster that burned down over half of the city of Edo. So as the fictitious cause of that fire, that would mean upwards of 100,000 people died as the 'blood sacrifice' to her revenge. Cannot wait for S2 - this show was amazing. Great reaction series as always!

Seriously!! We got so invested in this- unreal end to the season! My current theory is the 4th jerk with the "most beautiful eyes" or whatever they said is her mom. I was also suspecting that it was a Japanese father! Also recontextualizing that great fire as the cost for Mizu's revenge is HARDCORE! Cannot WAIT for the next season!! 😭
