So sorry for the delay! My VS Code program wasn't calibrated with CSIDE and in the indentions basically messed up. Every single one...ah....so if you see options that are only one or two choices, thats why. If you've been following a while, you're probably well aware of much hatred for the prologue's coding lmao but we live and we learn.

For this rewrite, I focused mainly on the big things like choices that will impact the rest of the story and O's gender selection. Some new things include:

  • you can now play with Orion or Oriana Quinn

  • you can now express if the band went through a musical rebrand after seven and what the old genre was (which will come up later).

  • you can now choose whether mc "changed" after seven and what change that was (there's 4, technically 2, options and a "default" vague option, im open to more options since I wanted to do this but couldn't really think of any believable ones beyond the four).

  • new mc personality: attached vs detached. your mc can have an extra attachment to the band for obvious reasons, or can feel the opposite.

  • coordinating outfits can now be exclusive to the band members. your mc can be the unique unicorn of the group since they're the lead singer (this is definitely not gonna bite them in the ass later)

  • adding to that, your mc's reason for fame can be due to wanting to keep the band together.

  • a new flavor text feeling about seven is now added which is basically "idk how I feel" instead of hating or loving them, you can just make it that MC's feelings for them is just a big question mark. REALISM!

smaller changes include:

  • more choices and options

  • prose changes + dialogue additions and expanded/ added scenes

The beta testers have not touched this yet, as I wanted to bring it out to collect some last suggestions, ideas from Patrons. Of course, as always, if you do catch errors, please let me know. Once again, last chance for suggestions or if you have any ideas to help me improve on what I added, I'm all years!

PROLOGUE: 93K WORDS (for context, the old prologue and chapter 1 were 92k together. The prologue is a tiny bit inflated but :)))

EDIT: Save slots added! Sorry I always forget to check the box lolol

EDIT: It is now available for band tier!

Jumping on the « How to screw up our MC » bandwagon lol I love the idea of more subtle self-destructive outlet ❤️ So sorry for spamming but since we started the topic of MC’s relationship with their friends/band, I have to give my two cents lol Let me be clear, I absolutely love all your characters Amy, you did a fantastic job at making them feel real and that’s why so many readers are invested in your story and like to share with you how they would deal with such and such situations. I’m so sorry if it feels overwhelming ! I absolutely trust your writing process and I know that it’s impossible to make everything 100% customizable but I love to talk about stories that inspire me lmao And I’m not shy to say that MC is my fav character in Infamous, so again thank you !! Ok, so, the first two chapters of Infamous show us that even without our input (the player) MC is resilient AF. Shitty parents, Seven fallout, UW, the cheating allegation, every bullshit the show is throwing at them, every bullshit Seven is throwing at them, every bullshit their band is throwing at them…and yet MC is still standing strong, or are they really ? Here are the new unhealthy coping mechanisms for MCs that don’t want to shatter their chance of winning BTOB with some « dumb » alcohol/drug/sex scandals (which are really fun to play) Perfectionism : To not allow oneself to fail. MC parents were never there for them, Seven turned their back on them, band betrayed them with the vote (if you decide to keep the duet), hell I think even MC betrayed themselves with how they reacted after the vote (maybe they didn’t expect their people pleasing side to be that bad ? Or on the contrary, their « greed » for fame and willingness to « sacrifice » Seven to achieve it surprised them.)One thing is sure, the MC/Seven breakup was necessary for them to grow out of their codependency but it’s also proof to MC that nothing last forever and that you can’t control everything around you. But you know what you can 100% control ? Yourself. If you’re perfect nobody will criticize you. People will admire you, envy you, they will want to stand by you. Show them that you’re worth something, that you’re the one shining. Make them blind (by slowly killing yourself at the same time because perfection is unattainable haha 🙃) Emotional Detachment: aka enjoying life and people without the pain that comes with it (thus feeling a little bit empty inside and like you’re standing behind a window watching others go on with their lives) MC got burned so many times by people they cared about it’s not even funny anymore (I love it!), it’s basic survival instinct for them to fear getting emotionally close with other people. Why even bother when you know they’ll screw you over one way or another ? It’s simpler to play a role, to wear a smiling mask and dance to the tune that will help you achieve your goal faster. They don’t need to know about you. About your dreams, your fears, what makes you laugh or cry. Be there for them if you want, but never expect them to do the same for you. And my favorite, Repressed Anger : Pure. Rage. Buried. So. Deep. It. Hurts. If there is one scene I can’t wait to see happening, it’s to see a Perfect MC snaps, because you know it’s gonna be bloody! Which FINALLY brings me to the topic of MC relationship’s with their band/friends. Can you picture it? An MC who deeply loves their friend but also fucking resents them for what they put them through with Seven ? Can you see it ? An MC flabbergasted by Jessy leaving the band because she wants to start a family with Chris, after she played a part in ruining their relationship with Seven FOR THE GOOD OF THE BAND ? (Reacting like this is toxic AF, and my MC hates herself for being so selfish. She loves Jazzy and wishes her all the best with little Leo and Chris but at the same time, she can’t help but resent her for not having to « throw away » her happiness for the band.) But can you see it ? An MC hearing Rowan’s grievances (that were absolutely valid) and realizing he might be ready to give up their dream because of some freaking self-doubts (that were absolutely valid) ? Being forced to give him some tough love so he could keep going and not render obsolete everything MC had to sacrifice ? Can you freaking see it ?? MC realizing that the band isn’t taking winning BTOB as seriously as them because if worst comes to worse they can always come back to their regular life, to their family and loved one, and reminisce about their days as a band. Whereas what’s left for MC ? Broken home and broken relationship ? (Let my dramatic ass be dramatic please) Not on their watch! They’ll win this shit and drown their sorrow in money ! And if MC has to literally carry their band on their shoulders to achieve their goal, they’ll do it (and destroy themselves in the process). Thank you for coming to my TED talk (and sorry)

Okay, I love all the additions to the prologue. i have a few thoughts, and I'll try to organize them succinctly: 1. I like a male O and male G, but my character is extremely lesbian. There's a bit where G is flirting and I would like the ability to tell him he's barking up the wrong tree. In a totally friendly way. It's weird to shoot him down and he just says to a gay girl that he likes a challenge. 2. For our most popular song, I picked "breakup song," and my custom lyrics (stolen from Dolly Parton) are angsty as hell. I wish that, after the audition when my bandmates are happily singing the chorus to a breakup song I wrote about 7, I could snap at them and tell them to stop. 3. I really appreciate that we can specifically say that the audition song was indeed written about 7. The option to lock eyes with 7 during the audition and start singing directly to her is fabulous. Love it. 4. I like meeting up with Maya but I also want to beat someone up. Maybe let us kick Rowan in the head when we get back to the party? 5. One of the options in the teaser of the party flashback is along the lines of "Why didn't you speak up?" But because it's not in quotes, I thought it was introspective, inner monologue asking myself that question. I think the "I don't know" answer is good but I'd love if there were an option to just straight up offer to quit the band on the spot and form a new one with Seven and without the others. That would maybe clash with the rest of that party and the big drama blowup, but I think it could work well if it were a sincere offer by the MC but Seven interprets it as sarcasm or mockery and gets angrier.

(“I don't know what's going to come out of me. It has to be perfect. It has to be irreproachable in every way.' 'Why?' 'To make up for it. To make up for the fact that it's me.” ) ← the vision I am trying to achieve for my MC.
