Thoughts on upcoming tier changes (Patreon)

Hello, Ginormous and Brobdingnagian patrons! As always, thank you SO much for your support; I really do appreciate it. When I get the next comic started and unpause the campaign, I’m thinking of making a few changes to the tier perks, and wanted to bounce them off you guys before everyone else.

A lot of this revolves around the SFW/NSFW split between the Massive and Colossal tiers, which seemed like a good idea at the time but has become an albatross around my neck in many respects. Basically, I‘ve realized that if I do anything more NSFW than Kaiju Attack,  the $6 tier will be getting such a censored version it’ll be unreadable; and if I start any of my story ideas less NSFW or completely SFW, it feels like Colossal patrons are paying extra for nothing.

So I’m thinking of removing that split, and trickling some perks downward a bit, so everyone gets a little something new with the changes:

• Massive ($6) patrons will now get access to ALL full-page comic stories, whether SFW or NSFW. I’ll be posting NSFW pages in a censored version with the uncensored version attached, so the handful of folks who don’t want NSFW work can simply not click through.

• Colossal ($12) patrons will have access to the hi-res versions of all comics. I haven’t decided yet whether they’ll also inherit the one-day-early perk or if that will remain exclusive to the higher tiers.

• Ginormous/Brobdingnagian ($25+) tiers … well, where does that leave you guys? Well …

What I’m thinking of doing is making these tiers a kind of all-access pass into the creative process. I’m usually pretty cagey about revealing too many spoilers or too much story ahead of time … but I’ve been feeling it would also be nice to have a very small, private community with which to share ideas and invite to see more of how the process is made. I’m still finalizing my list, but I’m thinking of perks such as these:

• More access to unedited, uncensored early concepts, scripts, and preliminary page layouts, including changes along the creative process.

• Private streaming sessions. Since you guys will already be privy to works in progress, I can stream while working on comics and comic pages. I’m not sure about the exact schedule yet, but when I’m in “Patreon Production” mode I usually work several days a week for pretty long blocks of time, so hopefully everyone would be able to jump in at least occasionally when their schedule overlaps with mine.

• Private development chat room. To tie everything together, I’d have a full-time active chat room just for these tiers — possibly on Telegram or Discord or elsewhere, we’ll see where y’all are. But it would be a convenient place just to drop ideas I’m working on, share works-in-progress quickly without having to send a ton of Patreon posts, and share feedback

As I said, I’m still finalizing these ideas, but let me know what y’all think! Hopefully I’ll be able to get this all planned out and make the announcement to everyone sometime this month, so production can resume in June. And you guys will get the first peeks at the upcoming Zephyrus/Stroganov comic I have planned, AND a much deeper look into larger projects coming around the corner.
