This is one of my favorite episodes of the season. I think the twist you missed is that Anna and everyone in Arendelle was frozen for 30 years, the same amount of time Elsa was trapped in the urn, and a couple years longer than everyone being frozen in time in Storybrooke. Arendelle unfroze while the current storyline was playing out in Storybrooke. So Elsa wishing on the Wishing Star just brought Anna and Kristoff to Storybrooke, not through time or anything. I think that was a brilliant idea by the writers.
