so actually fun fact, this episode aired right after the Superbowl of 2006 and it is the reason why Grey's Anatomy became so popular. Everyone tuned in for the episode after watching the game and were so intrigued by it and the cliffhanger ending, that mostly everyone returned the following week to watch part 2. The premiere of this episode garnered 38.1 million views, this episode broke records for being one of the most watched episodes of a series in a single night.
