The actor, Matt Cohen who plays the younger John, for me, in this episode for Michael's first appearance, he plays the character perfectly, when I imagine Michael he's immediately the one that comes in my mind. Serious, calm and a little scary. A hell of a contrast with a Dean who speaks loud and clear, provocative and even rebellious. I really liked this episode, it's really cool to see the parents of two brothers, especially for Sam who never had the opportunity to see his mother unlike Dean. Will fate win the game and Dean and Sam will fold or they will succeed against all odds in changing the future ...

That's an interesting theory, that God is on Earth and in a vessel. I don't think I've heard that theory before. Regarding the vessels, Castiel told Jimmy in S4 that he was a vesseli and it was in his bloodline, so I think it's safe to assume that he's Castiel's true vessel.

My theory on vessels: I think the whole true vessel thing has to do with how...comfortable the angel is in the body. Maybe they have a better connection to heaven in their direct bloodline, or maybe the direct descendent is more easily able to channel/contain power. Maybe a direct descendent is more likely to survive a possession intact – remember that Cas briefly possessed Jimmy’s daughter, but was able to hop back into Jimmy’s body and release Claire’s fairly easily. And it would probably matter more for an archangel because of the amount of power in question. So my guess is that Nick is a somewhat distant relation to Sam and Dean (since they don’t appear to have any aunts/uncles/cousins/etc)...but Lucifer and Michael both want to bring their A-game to the apocalypse showdown, which is why they are focused on getting consent from their true vessels.

Absolutely right that in 4x16 Uriel said the only thing that can kill an Angel is another Angel. However, the show really boiled it down to the “Angel blade” can kill angels even if wielded by a human. All your favorite ladies are dying this season, huh? Be thankful Sarah hasn’t shown up again with the way things are going. 😂 It was fairly weird and rude that John just left the house at the beginning and just left a note rather than say he had to step out for a few minutes. My headcanon is that John had too much pride and didn’t want to tell his wife he had to go I order I try and save his job. Maybe a little hint at the toxic masculinity that eventually turns him into the John we know after Mary dies.
