Hey all! The day after I posted that I was coming home my son's lung collapsed again. They think that some air got in when they were pulling his tubes out and it caused it to deflate again. They had to repeat the whole process of removing the excess air and they were overly cautious removing his tubes so we were there much longer than anticipated. He's doing great now and I'm happy to say that he's finally home and ready to host D&D night again! 😄

I've been busy working on stuff for you all and I'm finally done with the 1st part of the Afternoon Tea set. I'm SO excited about how everything turned out, I can't wait to show you all how it works! It's also exciting because it sets up the foundation for some future projects that will use the same tuning like crafting cheeses and other stuff that needs curing/fermenting.

WIP Progress:

I've got the bulk of the 'Afternoon Tea' project done but I'll have to release the food and objects separately. I actually had to rework the whole Tea Curing/Drying process a few times because some aspects of the mod clashed when I got to the milling and recipe parts. I'm also going to upload the WIP file a little different this time, it will be one or two large files that include everything. Later when it's ready for Pre-Release I'll separate everything so you can pick and chose what you want but everything is so interrelated it's going to take me a while to prep all the files.

Tea Curing & Milling

This project is complete. You can create a tea curing rack, collect the leaves when they're at the right cure (white, green, oolong, or black), then use those leaves on the mill to make new types of tea. The curing process has lots of layers and features to it, I'll have more details in a video soon. Stuff included:

  • Curing Shelf
  • Curing Rack Woodworking Recipe
  • Tea Curing Rack Recipe
  • Basket of Cured White Tea Leaves
  • Basket of Cured Green Tea Leaves
  • Basket of Cured Oolong Tea Leaves
  • Basket of Cured Black Tea Leaves
  • Black Tea Milling Recipe
  • Earl Grey Tea Milling Recipe
  • Green Tea Milling Recipe
  • Lavender Earl Grey Tea Milling Recipe
  • Oolong Tea Milling Recipe
  • Rose Congou Tea Milling Recipe
  • White Tea Milling Recipe

Cured tea leaves and the large sacks of milled teas will spoil eventually (a REALLY long time) but the single tea tins you can measure from the milled tea sacks will never spoil. Tea tins are used as ingredients to make tea in my new Teapot object or in EA's teamaker.

Teapot & Tea Drinks

This is complete as well. I had to rework this a little bit too. When I finished it originally I realized that because it was like a drink tray you couldn't use all those ingredients I just created to make a pot of tea on it 😅. So I added 2 options, you can 'Make' tea which uses ingredients at no cost, or you can 'Serve' tea and just pay to stock the tray. I even added some icons so you can differentiate them since they sound similar.

I also made 10 different teas themed around an afternoon tea party. The cup is white and the style matches the teapot. I left them white so they look good with any teapot design you choose. Some of these teas have buffs to go along with them - Thank you to the Patrons who helped with buff suggestions:  BlackPiano, Ardled, Bomberrysims, and RedZee ❤🤗. There are technically 30 recipe variations here - for each tea you have a drink tray version you stock using simoleons, a drink tray version you stock using ingredients, and a basic version that you can make on EA's teamaker! Stuff included:

  • Teatime Teapot
  • Black Tea
  • Chamomile Tea
  • Earl Grey Tea
  • English Breakfast tea
  • Green Tea
  • Irish Breakfast Tea
  • Lavender Earl Grey Tea
  • Oolong Tea
  • Rose Congou Tea
  • White Tea

Harvestables:

Everything is meshed out and textured I just need to wrap up the tunings. The Bergomot Orange is ready because I wanted to make sure it was available as an ingredient for the Earl Grey teas. Planned stuff:

  • Bergamot Orange - DONE!
  • Cucumber
  • Dill
  • Apricot

Food & Ingredients:

This is not complete but almost all ingredients are done I just need to fix a couple of things with the Choux Dough. Planned Stuff:

  • Cinnamon Spice - DONE!
  • Paprika Spice - DONE!
  • Apricot Chutney
  • Clotted Cream
  • Choux Dough
  • Pie Dough - DONE!
  • Graham Crackers - DONE!

Most food recipes are meshed out and about half have textures. Here's a list of what's planned:

  • Cucumber Dill Tea Sandwiches
  • Chicken & Apricot Chutney Tea Sandwiches (I may have to shorten this name lol)
  • Deviled Egg Salad Finger Sandwiches
  • Cheese Scones
  • Scones with Jam & Clotted Cream
  • Earl Grey Blackberry Scones
  • Scottish Shortbread Cookies
  • Chocolate Iced Mini Eclairs
  • Raspberry Iced Madeleines
  • Lamingtons
  • Nanaimo Bars
  • Cinnamon Tea Cookies

Objects

These aren't complete. I've prepped the textures for the dishes but I haven't decided how I want to deal with the 'items in slots that are on a slot disappear' issue. Planned items:

  • Tiered tray for food plates
  • Deco plates for table setting to match teapot patterns
  • Dinnerware place setting to match teapot patterns (requires Parenthood)

I'll be packaging the files tonight and should have them up for Pink Lotus Patrons tomorrow. I'll also have some videos up in the next few days on how to use everything and I'll be catching up on Pre-Release and public posts tomorrow and into the weekend! 😁

I don't think you know how much you truly made my day! <3 <3 <3 Oh man! I wish I would have thought of this earlier since Valarian root is already in game as a harvestable/plant......I used to drink it every night, it's called Valarian Nights tea. It has a fruity taste to it, but it helps you fall asleep. It would go hand in hand with a Nighty Night Buff or Deep Sleep Buff.
