Homesteading

So the only way that makes sense to do a wood burning stove that requires wood is to recreate all the recipes in game to require wood as an ingredient. Then I'd have to go through and edit ALL the menu tuning for each serving under the stove and make it so only THAT stove can use those recipes.

The issue with this is that it's going to need to be updated frequently and under each recipe menu.

I think the only way to make this work without adding a ton of extra stuff to my plate when the game updates is to make this stove decorative only.

I could try to see if I could make the stove usable only if there is a wood pile on the lot. The wood pile would be able to be crafted on the woodworking table from wood pieces collected from a tree harvestable. If need be, you could also break the pile down into individual pieces to craft stuff with. In this case, I would also make the stove not require power if you wanted to cook on it.

Also if we go the 'wood pile' route I want to add a way to compensate for the fact that it doesn't require the monthly bill payment. Maybe I can make it break more often or something?

Tell me what you think or add some new ideas in the comments below!

I don’t mind it being decorative to save you time and work but if there is a way to make the stove only work with wood that would be my preference!!

I dont think worrying about what it adds to the monthly bill is important esp with the cost of bills anyway in the game, consider it a tax break for them when using a wood stove since it costs nothing to use ;p I would rather have a working stove rather than deco for my cabins and such even if it used electic/gas but looks old fashion wood burning. As it is now I use the only one the game has that looks like a wood burning when doing such builds. One of the points to homesteading is to reduce the costs of bills so if it costs nothing to use a wood burning stove I call that the bonus plan.
