You may have noticed the lack of updates over the last two months and I apologize for going radio silent, I'll explain what is going on.

Over the last two to three months I have been struggling to make any meaningful progress on Top Dolphin, it would appear that with every step forward I would end up going one step back. I have scrapped entire scenes and started over at least three times because I ended up in a creative dead end. It is not the first time this has happened during a project, but this is definitely the worst instance.

To make up for my lack of progress I have sacrificed essentially every productive hour. I have not worked on renders, characters, background scenes, my website or anything else and I'm sad to say it has taken a toll on my personal life as well.

Two weeks ago I began encountering a rotating cast of software related problems on top of everything else, essentially making it impossible to progress. Despite my best attempts over the last week to find  the problem which seems to be located within this particular scene I cannot find the cause.

With all that in mind, I have made the difficult decision to finish "Top Dolphin" with the scenes I have already completed, as of right now the climax scene is cancelled.

I am sorry to bring you this disappointing news after such a long wait, this is not the way I wanted things to go.

Finalizing "Top Dolphin"

I am preparing these scenes for rendering. The final background scenes and props are completed so aside from lighting adjustments, I am ready to go. These scenes are pretty heavy, going for 4 minutes per frame on my end (4 minutes x24 frames for each second). I'll be getting help with rendering, but it'll take some time.

After "Top Dolphin"

I will be avoiding multi-scene animations until I figure out what went wrong here, but the next projects will still be voted on. I will have more information to share in the weeks to come.

Until then,

Tas

Sorry you had so much trouble! I totally support you cutting your time losses, I've had to do the same on many of my personal coding and art projects and it's really hard. Have a great day!

Wouldn't claim to speak for anyone else but I would expect your patrons are here to support your creativity and content, not to work you over for small details. Nothing wrong with having grand asperations but definitely don't let 'great' get in the way of 'good'.

That's understandable and intellectually I do know many people feel this way, but there's still an expectation from me and those other patrons that can't be ignored. Thank you though :)

Yo, this post was created on my birthday! Please don’t stress over this. This is hard work! And work that is bound to have serious difficulties. I am very sorry to hear about that. Your health comes first. I want you to be well over your content.
