“However, I don't think we can do anything at this moment. It's late at night. Regardless of reality, we are in. The housing agencies should be closed now.” Julis commented as she looked at the night sky through the holes in the roof.

“True. I should still have some furs. It should be enough for today.”

Alex started to check his inventory for the wolf furs.

‘Got 91 of those…’

With casual motion, he proceeded to summon pelts the size of a tall human.

Inori looked curiously at what he was doing. She was intrigued by how he could do this. Not that she will ask him.

“Make a temporary bed. You two can sleep while I keep watch.”

“...Very well.” Julis proceeded to make a bed in the best-looking corner.

“...What about you?” Inori asked with a soft but emotionless voice.

“I will ensure nothing happens to you two while the pair of you rest.” He said that with a smile while patting her head.

His actions caused her eyes to tremble as she wondered what this feeling was. As someone who lacks memories, some key memories with the experiences are missing, so his actions are something she couldn't comprehend.

“... you don't need to rest?”

She asked him with a curious tone.

“I can go without sleeping for a while. I am pretty different compared to a regular person.”

Inori slowly nodded. From what she understood, ordinary people shouldn't be able to do what he was doing.

‘Is he different like I am?’

In a way, it made her feel— relieved. Someone who is not born naturally, she is relieved to find people who are similarly not normal like she is.

“...I know. I don't think ordinary people should be flying or doing things that you can.” The pinkette said that with a blunt tone.

“Indeed. That's why I am asking if you want to follow us. Because in your world, we are not ‘normal’.” He enquired her one last time.

“... I don't care. I think I will be with you because I think it's the best thing to do. I am not ‘normal’, and so are you. That makes it— proper?” The girl tried to explain what she was feeling about this situation.

“I suppose you are right. By the way, there is something I want to show you.” Alex summoned his phone and went through a few things. This phone is literally the only thing he has left from his original world.

It has his music collection. That's right, he has THE Guilty Crown’s entire music collection.

He smiled when he saw that he had his stuff. He then swiftly summoned headphones and connected to the phone.

“Come over.”

The White Dragon Emperor motioned for her to come over.

The clueless pinkette did just that. He placed the headphones in her ears. Then he started with the iconic ‘Bios’.

The moment she heard it, her eyes turned glassy. The girl was ‘gone’.

“...What did you do to her?” Julis walked over and looked at Inori just standing there— spacey.

“I let her listen to Guilty Crown soundtracks,” Alex answered as he observed Inori.

“... That's…”

Julis didn't know how to put this. It's a uniquely strange situation.

“How do you think such music affects her? I mean, it's music related to her world but from an outsider's perspective.”

The Pink Princess starts getting nerdy as she observes her fellow pink-haired girl.

“No idea. Why do you think I gave it to her to listen to it?” Alex slightly chuckled as he continued to look.

By this point, Inori got over her spacing and nodded her head, then started to hum.

“Well, she is a singer in the original story, so maybe she just realised what music is.” The White Dragon Emperor pondered out loud.

“...Pity, I hoped she could unlock some sort of power from listening to music from a different reality, which is linked to her world.” Julis sighed while saying that.

“You do realise I have soundtracks from YOUR world?”

Julis moved to the side and faced him properly.

“...You're only telling me this now!?”

“...Yeah? I only remembered this because Inori is—was the lead singer of the first opening of the first season of Guilty Crown.” He explained himself.

“...*Sigh* whatever… I can listen to it later!” Even though she said it in a way that sounded like she didn't care, Alex could see her moving her centre of gravity to one side, then another.

It looked like she was barely controlling her patience.

Instead of saying anything, he pulled her into a hug from behind.

“Relax, it's not like my phone will disappear.” He slightly teased her about her impatience.

“I know~ fine. She can listen to music. I will have this for a while~” The Pink Princess snuggled in his arms.

Alex smiled as he proceeded to help her sit properly on his lap.

As the pair were enjoying their snuggling time, the other pinkette looked at them. With music, she was listening and seeing that in front of her. Her mind started to think what kind of feeling she would have when she was being held like that.

After this music is doing something to her, well, it gives a feeling of ‘Right’ like it was meant for her.

Regardless, after a while, Julis finished with a hug and then pulled the fellow pinkette aside and proceeded to get some rest in a mountain of fur.

Seeing them snoozing, Alex proceeded to close his eyes and started to focus on his mana.

This moment was such a perfect time to practise his mana reserves.

For one, there is no mana in this world. Apart from Julis’ mana, he can only sense his mana. Such a thing allows him to focus solely on what he can feel.

‘For now, let's calm down; all this impulsive feeling makes it hard to control.’

[I suggest starting from a mental state. Mana eventually adjusts to you.]

[Your trigger-happy, strike-first mental thing comes from having a thunder nature. At the same time, you can't change that now, but you can adopt the ‘observe first, kill later’ mentality.]

‘Hmm, I see your point. Honestly, it makes sense. Thunder only strikes when it shows its intentions, isn't it? First comes the light, followed by the sound.’

[That's why I suggested that.]

The white dragon mentally nodded at him.

‘Great, I suppose I could try some sort of patience with hopes to strike later. Since my body just itches to strike.’

[Yes, that's what lightning does. However, you are not just lightning. Since you have dragon blood flowing through you, it doesn't make you ‘pure lightning.’ That should help you develop ‘observe first, strike later’. At the same time, you can use that to build up mana before releasing a killer move.]

[Start with a breathing exercise.]

‘You are now a Shaolin monk or something? You know breathing methods?’

Alex asked with an amused tone.

[Duh? Remember? Ancient Dragon? The Heavenly Dragon? Dragon of Supremacy? The majority of my hosts were technician fighters. I was lucky to have a couple of Chinese martial artists as hosts.]

‘Oh, so you know some Xianxia stuff?’ The White Dragon Emperor host jokingly asked.

[ I wouldn't say that. I do, however, recall a couple of stances and breathing methods since I used something similar to control my flames.]

‘Cool! Let's do it!’ The teen got giddy when he heard that!

[Sure, let's start with—]

A few hours later, as Alex was using his new breathing method to sync with his mana flow, he could sense they were not alone.

His static field picked up a movement.

The girls were soundly asleep. It was even cute to look at the pair sleeping like that. Julis treated the fellow pinkette like a teddy bear while Inori was asleep with headphones on, only that the headphones had partially fallen off.

Alex moved out to face what it was.

“Hmm?”

As he left the warehouse, he looked around.

Since the moon illuminated the place from a tree's shadow, a guy in his late teens walked out. He had long blonde hair and wore a black and red uniform.

This guy was—

“Gai Tsutsugami?”

“...You know me?”

“...I do.”

“...The data I got said you are an ‘alien’.” The blonde was quite confused. He learned that two people were waging war on GHQ, and he instantly moved in to try to recruit this pair since they needed all the help they could to fight that oppressive organisation.

The data they hacked told him that they just appeared out of nowhere with unique powers, and they didn't exist in any database. While they look human, these two, by all means and purposes, are aliens.

“Well, that's just rude. What if we come from a very remote village?”

“...as if. You simply can't enter Japan like that. This is a quarantine zone. If you could just stroll in, then GHQ would be a laughingstock. No matter how much I wish that is the case, it's not.” The blonde explained with a simple tone.

“Besides, you two simply appeared in Tokyo. The security system even got an error; one moment, there was nothing, and the next second, there are two extra people whom they picked up on cameras.”

“...Well, I guess that was our fault for appearing in the middle of a street.”

“You could say that. Regardless, I am not here to discuss your existence.” Gai was about to give a speech, but Alex interrupted him.

“Indeed. You want us to join your little resistance group.” The White Dragon Emperor said with a small smile.

“...That would be correct. If you do that, we will assist you with blending into the society. From documents to places to stay. We have one of the best hackers in the world.” Gai suggested with a small smile.

“Hmm, I suppose we could do that. But then again, I am not good at listening to someone’s orders.”

“That's fine; you can always leave anytime you want. I don't think there is anyone in this world who could tell you what to do.”

[Well, he is trying to do everything he can to rope you into his little cause. Besides, he does have more regular info than you do. If he asks something boorish, you can always decline.]

‘I guess you are right. He will help me to get the void genome.’

[That too. For now, let him set you up, and from there, we can see how it goes.]

‘Fair enough.’

“Very well. I accept your offer.” Alex accepted after pondering for a short while.

“Good. I will return in the morning when your group is ready.”

After saying that, the blonde guy turned around and walked away.

The White Dragon Emperor's senses could pick up that there were more people in this area.

But they kept their distance.

‘Well, this will be interesting. I guess I will add another resume to my CV…’

[Government toppling? A rebel?]

‘Something like that.’

With a shrug, Alex returned to the warehouse.

He returned to practise the breathing method and mana circulation for the rest of the night.

By the time it was morning, he felt refreshed! His mana rejuvenated him!

[It appears the dragon’s heart is more useful than I thought.]

Albion commented as he felt the effects of such a use.

[From now on, you should practise this as much as possible.]

No need to tell me that. I can sense that my mana reserves have increased, and it's easier to use.’

[That’s what I meant about Dragon Heart’s magic nature.]

‘Yeah, that.’

As he got up from his seat, he stretched out and was ready for the day.

“Julis, Inori, get up. We have things to do.”

His voice made the pair start to move.

“Hnnn~”

“...Okay~”

The pair started to get up. They opened their eyes and looked around. They saw Alex just standing there and looking at the pair.

“...You look like you slept better than we did!” Julis started to complain, seeing him all fresh!
